This is such a good point about states thinking their particular war is the exception to history. I always find it wild that the smartest people in the room, generals and diplomats who've read all the same books we have, still fall into the same trap. Geez. You'd think Napoleon's Russia disaster would be required reading before anyone even thinks about a winter campaign. Thanks for writing this!
